The draw for the second round of the FA Cup is taking place tonight — but plenty of Premier League teams will not enter the competition until the third round.
Manchester United is the most high-profile team to take its place in the hat for the second-round draw, and the reason for United entering the competition one round earlier than usual is that the Red Devils are not playing in Europe this season.
All of the Premier League clubs that are competing in European competition during the 2025-26 season — Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur — will all enter the competition at the third-round stage.
