Why Martin Odegaard is not in Arsenal squad for Bournemouth clash as Mikel Arteta gives update

1 hour ago 3

Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update ahead of Arsenal's clash against Bournemouth.

Speaking to TNT Sports at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners boss said: "Early kick-off, so right from the beginning go set the tempo and set the domination that we want throughout the game. And go for it."

On the absence of Martin Odegaard, Arteta said: "He is a very important player for us but he had a niggle during the midweek game and he wasn't available today."

The Spaniard added: "Ricci [Calafiori] was not available today, Piero [Hincapie] is just back from injury - he has done so well to be in contention to play, and Myles [Leiws-Skelly] is obviously a top player.

"[Noni Madueke] has been very good for us. We are missing one of our best players for long parts now and Noni had to deliver, he is certainly delivering."

And on Bournemouth: "I don't know. That's up to them. I am focused on how we approach the game. We are so used to playing every three days. We have been terrific for nine months, so let's do it again. We approach as we always do, full domination, full gas and get our people right behind us."
