Arsenal's Bukayo Saka is expected to be out for up to four weeks after sustaining an injury during the Gunners' triumph over Leeds.
This injury will sideline him for a Premier League clash with Liverpool and England's forthcoming World Cup qualifiers. Saka netted a goal in the first half's stoppage time, contributing to Mikel Arteta's team's 5-0 victory on Saturday.
However, he was compelled to leave the field early in the second half due to a hamstring problem. Arsenal, last season's Premier League runner-up, also saw Martin Odegaard suffer a shoulder injury in the first half, putting his participation against Liverpool on August 31 in doubt.
Despite these setbacks, Arsenal had a comfortable win over Leeds, with Jurrien Timber and Viktor Gyokeres each scoring twice.
The match also marked the senior debut of 15-year-old Max Dowman, who had shown promise in the preseason.
Before Saturday's kick-off, the Gunners introduced their new signing, Eberechi Eze.
The former Crystal Palace player could be given his first start immediately due to the double injury blow, although neither Saka nor Odegaard is expected to be sidelined for long.
The timing of Saka's absence is inconvenient for England manager Thomas Tuchel, who aims to maintain a perfect start in World Cup qualifying.
England will host Andorra at Wembley on September 6, followed by a challenging away game against Serbia three days later.
Following a pair of home victories in Tuchel's opening two matches as manager, the Three Lions appeared less impressive when they edged past Andorra 1-0 in Barcelona.
They suffered their first defeat under Tuchel in June, as Senegal mounted a comeback to secure a 3-1 victory at the City Ground.
Arsenal's most recent injury concerns follow Kai Havertz sustaining a knee problem. Following the victory against Leeds, manager Arteta acknowledged the disappointing aspects of the season's beginning.
"That's the negatives of the day," Arteta said on Saturday. "Martin felt something in his shoulder when he landed. We don't know, we'll have to scan him tomorrow and understand a bit better.
"And Bukayo, while he was carrying the ball, wrestling with the defender, he felt something in his hamstring. Let's see, I think it's the other one, it's not the same one as the previous injury.
"We've been two weeks and we've already lost Kai, Martin, and Bukayo, so it tells you how well-equipped you have to be in this league to manage and to maintain the level that we want."
