Everything you need to know about Arsenal injuries following Mikel Arteta's press conference..
- What happened: Mikel Arteta has issued a series of updates on the fitness of several first-team players. Those included in his update were William Saliba and Leandro Trossard.
- Saliba blow: Arteta has hinted William Saliba is likely to miss Arsenal's clash with Brentford due to the knock that kept him out of the game with Chelsea. The defender travelled with the Gunners squad to Stamford Bridge but was unable to play in the 1-1 draw.
- Inside view: When asked to provide an update on the 24-year-old, Arteta said: "I am not going to be able to help you much today as we have another training session. He had a little niggle, but I think it's going to be a matter of days."
- Trossard latest: Arteta also confirmed that Trossard could also miss the game against the Bees due to a calf problem. The injury forced the forward off in the first half of the Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.
- Return date: The Belgian underwent further tests on Friday, and Arteta has revealed he is just a "matter of days" away from returning. There will, however, be a longer wait for the return of Kai Havertz.
- Needs more time: Asked for an update on Havertz, Arteta revealed: “Matter of weeks. Let’s see how it evolves in the next few weeks. He’s doing really well; he’s doing stuff on the pitch, but I think he needs some time.”
- Less optimistic: Arteta was also asked about Gabriel. But in an update, he warned: “Big Gabi is doing very well as well, but that’s weeks as well.”
