Wilson Odobert reveals why he is confident after ‘looking closely’ at Tottenham results

1 hour ago 24

Wilson Odobert has shared his thoughts on the club’s inconsistent home form, as Thomas Frank continues to search for solutions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur’s home form has been a source of major concern for Thomas Frank, who has seen his side win just one game at home all season, having lost three and drawn two of their six matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Their away record, on the other hand, has been near flawless, with no team in the Premier League this season boasting a better run of results away from home.

Tottenham remain unbeaten on their travels this term, having drawn one away fixture and won four others on the road, which highlights a clear contrast between their performances at home and away.

Tottenham winger Wilson Odobert has given his take on the club’s struggles at home, insisting that things will improve with time and consistency.

Speaking to RMC Sport ahead of the international break, where he joined up with the France U21 side, the 20-year-old reflected on Tottenham’s performances so far this season and suggested that their home results do not tell the full story.

“I think it will all come together little by little,” Odobert said. “If you look closely at our matches, we are not playing badly. And when we lose, it is really close.

“A bit of a mixed bag because if you look at away games, I think we are the best away team. So, there you have it, we just need to confirm that at home.

“And with our fans, I think that will come together little by little. So, we are feeling confident, we have a good feeling about us, and I think the chances we create will come with time. We should not force things; we just need to let time take its course, and everyone should work hard.”

Spurs stronger in Europe despite league struggles

While Spurs have struggled at home in the Premier League, the Lilywhites have shown a much stronger record in European competitions this season.

Tottenham have been flawless at home on the continental stage, with the north Londoners yet to lose a single game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, winning 17 of their 22 matches and keeping 12 clean sheets in the process.

Alan Shearer believes that Tottenham’s struggles at home in the league stem from how visiting teams set up against them, suggesting that if Spurs can find a way to break down defensive sides, they will see a sharp improvement in their domestic home record.
