Journalist Pete O’Rourke has weighed in on how likely Micky van de Ven is to depart Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
As Spurs hover just above the relegation zone, the vultures are circling over not just their big-name stars, but also their young talents.
Some of the biggest clubs in the world are turning their attention to Luka Vuskovic, while reports have also suggested that Lucas Bergvall is being eyed by Premier League clubs.
Over the last week, there have been claims in the media that Archie Gray is being targeted by Real Madrid.
However, the biggest worry is about Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, both of whose futures at N17 look uncertain at the moment.

Micky van de Ven may be looking leave Tottenham
It has been widely claimed that contract talks between Van de Ven and Tottenham have ground to a halt as the centre-back assesses his future amidst interest from the European elite.
Pete O’Rourke believes that the Dutchman could be one of several Spurs players who seek new pastures at the end of this term if the Lilywhites, as expected, fail to qualify for Europe.
When asked about the interest in Van de Ven’s services, the journalist told Football Insider: “Obviously, there’s a chance if Tottenham don’t qualify for Europe, some of their best players will be looking to move on.
“Van de Ven is no different. It wouldn’t be an easy deal to prise him out of Tottenham because he’s under contract until 2029 and has been the captain in Romero’s absence.
“He’s such a key player for Tottenham, but it’s been a disappointing season and the players are not happy with where they find themselves right now as well. So it’s no surprise that other clubs are monitoring his situation.
“If Spurs were to get relegated, you would imagine Van de Ven would be among a number of players who’d be seeking a move out of Tottenham. He’s not rushing into signing any new contract at Tottenham and has delayed contract talks there. That might open the door for clubs to make offers for him this summer, and I’m sure Spurs are well aware of that.”
Who is circling around Van de Ven?
There have been suggestions in the media that Van de Ven’s head has been turned by interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Liverpool have reportedly identified Van de Ven as their top target for next summer, and they may not be the only Premier League club to show interest.
It has been suggested that Man United could also become a realistic destination for the Spurs defender in the summer if they seal Champions League qualification.
