Liverpool returns to action on Saturday with the FA Cup quarter-final away fixture at Manchester City. The Reds are still assessing exactly who will be available for the clash against the reigning League Cup holders.

The most pressing concern surrounds the fitness of Jeremie Frimpong. The right-back raised alarm bells when he was substituted for the Netherlands just minutes after coming on at half-time in the midweek friendly against Ecuador, though subsequent scans cleared him to rejoin full training on Thursday.

Liverpool also received positive news regarding Mohamed Salah, who was also present at the session having sat out the Premier League defeat at Brighton a fortnight ago with the injury that ruled him out for Egypt throughout the international break.

Federico Chiesa could be in contention after pulling out of the international break, having received an unexpected call-up for Italy.

Alexander Isak returned to team training on Thursday following an absence of more than three months, during which he underwent surgery on an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula, sustained after being caught by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven while scoring Liverpool's opener in the 2-1 away victory before Christmas, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds will nonetheless be cautious about rushing the Swedish international back, with Saturday's fixture potentially arriving too soon for his return.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the last two fixtures, with no confirmed date yet set for his comeback.

Conor Bradley faces a lengthy spell on the treatment table following knee surgery, ruling him out for the remainder of the season, while teenage center-back Giovanni Leoni is also absent until the summer after undergoing ACL surgery in September. Wataru Endo continues his recovery from an ankle operation carried out in February.

Fans can order jerseys in the US at Fanatics.com or via the LFC Online Store in both the US and across the world.

On the City side, center-back pairing Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias are confirmed absentees, with fellow defender John Stones also anticipated to miss the match.

Liverpool.com says: Fingers crossed for some good news on the injury front later. The signs are at least looking regarding Salah and Frimpong, and it looks like they should be involved at City in some capacity.

We doubt Isak will make an immediate return after such a long lay-off, and Slot has already suggested that the Paris Saint-Germain game in the Champions League will be his first target. Getting him back up to speed with only two months of the season remaining will be a challenge, but he will be needed during this run-in.
