3 players Liverpool is tipped to sign in January as Arne Slot could bring in more transfers

Liverpool went big in the summer, bringing in the likes of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, but Arne Slot's side could potentially be back in the market during January

Liverpool spent around $600M in the summer on new players, but that was offset by sales worth around half of that sum. In January, there is scope for more incomings if the right people are available.

Center-back would appear to be one priority for the Reds, where Arne Slot's roster looks a little light. But, as ever, Liverpool will have to be receptive to the players that come up in the market.

If a long-term target perhaps being eyed for the summer could be available earlier, it has shown in the past with the likes of Luis Diaz that it will move. These are the players being tipped with moves to Anfield right now.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace)

Nearly becoming a Liverpool player in the summer, Marc Guehi remains someone of interest to the Reds. Available for nothing at the end of the season, though, a move then feels more likely.

"I think Marc will stay until the end of the season," Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner said last week. The Austrian was insistent that Guehi couldn't be sold in the summer unless a replacement was sourced.

Liverpool.com says: Guehi remains a good option for the Reds, but a move mid-season could be tricky. Signing him sooner rather than later, though, would be ideal, with Slot's men looking light at the back.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth)

Antoine Semenyo has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, alongside Manchester United and Arsenal.

Though his form has not been the best in recent weeks, Semenyo is clearly talented. There will be no shortage of options for him, especially because of a relatively affordable release clause worth around $87 million (£65 million).

According to The Athletic, Semenyo favors a move to Manchester City over Chelsea or Manchester United. Those were the three most interested parties most recently.

Liverpool.com says: Semenyo would need to improve his output in the final third to be worth that amount to the Reds. He is a good player, but his goalscoring has never been particularly consistent.

Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund)

Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck is one name that keeps cropping up as a potential alternative to Guehi — or maybe even a target alongside him.

If Ibrahima Konate doesn't pen a contract extension, Liverpool might need two center-backs. Schlotterbeck, if he does leave, would be more likely to make the switch in the summer.

Liverpool.com says: Schlotterbeck is an established player in the Bundesliga and clearly has talent. A move away from Dortmund doesn't feel that likely in the winter window, while Bayern Munich could be firm competition in the summer.
