The January transfer window is fast approaching, and it could be a game-changer in the Premier League title race and relegation struggle.

Whether it's bolstering the squad for the title push or frantic purchases to stave off relegation, the mid-season window presents numerous opportunities. This year, the January transfer window spans from January 1 until February 2, providing ample time to strike deals. Some transfers have been in the works for a while, but others will surface late on deadline day.

Here are some potential Premier League transfers to watch out for in the coming weeks, including some involving Liverpool...

Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City

This deal seems almost certain. Bournemouth is prepared to let go, with Antonie Semenyo's release clause now public knowledge, and the Ghana international has made it clear that he wishes to join Manchester City following a string of impressive performances.

Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea were all reportedly keen on Semenyo, but they have since stepped back as City advanced in the discussions. These talks have been fruitful, and the 25-year-old, who has scored eight goals in 16 league matches, is anticipated to join the Premier League title contenders during the early stages of January.

Marc Guehi to Liverpool

This transfer seemed a certainty in the summer. Marc Guehi underwent a medical to finalize a switch from Crystal Palace to Liverpool, only for Palace chairman Steve Parish to halt proceedings at the eleventh hour.

However, with the Palace captain's contract expiring in June, the London club has come to terms with his imminent exit.

The remaining uncertainties are simply when and where. Arne Slot has previously stated that Liverpool wouldn't revisit a deal for Guehi in January, but a serious knee injury to Giovanni Leoni, Ibrahima Konate's inconsistent form - coupled with his own contract nearing its end - and interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in Guehi could prompt a change of plan.

The England defender is eager to make the move to Merseyside, although Palace would prefer to retain him until the season's close. Definitely one to watch in January.

Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace

Brennan Johnson netted 18 goals across all competitions for Spurs last season, including the decisive goal in the Europa League final, but he has seen limited action under Thomas Frank, and a transfer is on the cards. The Athletic reports that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs, with Palace now just needing to finalize personal terms.

Johnson made the switch from Nottingham Forest to Spurs in September 2023, but he is now set to embark on a new journey.

Ivan Toney to Everton

Everton, struggling to get much return from Beto and Thierno Barry, is on the hunt for a new striker. Ivan Toney, who is keen to secure a spot in England's squad for next year's World Cup, could be lured back to the United Kingdom from his lucrative stint in Saudi Arabia.

With an impressive tally of 43 goals and 10 assists in 63 games for Al-Ahli, Toney would undoubtedly be a valuable addition for the Toffees. However, Al-Ahli is reluctant to let him go.

Axel Disasi to Crystal Palace

Chelsea is keen to offload Disasi and Raheem Sterling, both of whom were part of the so-called "bomb squad" over the summer. Despite being reintegrated into the first team by Enzo Maresca, Disasi remains low down in the pecking order.

Sunderland, Bournemouth, and West Ham all expressed interest in Disasi during the summer, but a move to Palace seems more probable as the Eagles prepare for life without Guehi.
