AC Milan Femminile were given a hammering by Inter this afternoon, despite taking a lead in the game early on.
The Derby della Madonnina is just as fierce in the Serie A Femminile, with Milan seeking a fifth win of the season, which would have taken them into the top four. However, it was not to be.
After a strong performance against Napoli last time out, they were battered by their fierce rivals in front of Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare, both of whom were in attendance for the fixture.
Match report
Things started well for the Rossonere, with Van Dooren meeting a cross from Grimshaw to take the lead in just nine minutes. However, it did not last long, with the visitors equalising just 10 minutes later through Andres.
At half-time, Milan will have felt quite hopeful of a result, especially with Inter piling on the pressure. It was not to be, though, with Inter taking the lead in the 49th minute. From then on, the onslaught started.
Bugeja added two more before the hour mark, and then scored her hat-trick and Inter’s fifth of the afternoon 10 minutes from time. Not a good day at the office for the Rossonere, unfortunately.
