The 2025 summer mercato came to an end at 8 PM this evening, and AC Milan made a total of _ signings for the first team, reinforcing various positions.
While the key details of every transfer are listed below, we would recommend signing up for our Substack to get our annual mercato financial breakdown when it drops. In that article, we will outline the exact costs for the Rossoneri and what that means for next summer. And, above all, should they have spent more?
Below, we take a look at the signings and the details of each, from the contract length to the transfer fee.
2025 Summer Signings
Samuele Ricci (Central midfielder)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €25m
From: Torino
Contract: €2m per year until 2029 + one-year option
Milan’s first move of the summer was for long-term target Samuele Ricci. The midfielder was reportedly going to be signed if Tijjani Reijnders left, and destiny fulfilled itself at the start of July, with the Rossoneri getting a slight discount.
Luka Modric (Central midfielder)
Formula: Free transfer
Fee: €0m
From: Real Madrid
Contract: €3.5m per year until 2026 + one-year option
Little needs to be said about the signing of Luka Modric. His name transcends most of the players around him, and even at 39 years old, he possesses an extreme amount of quality that the Rossoneri are already enjoying the benefits of.

Pietro Terracciano (Goalkeeper)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: Unspecified
From: Fiorentina
Contract: €800k per year until 2026 + one-year option.
With Marco Sportiello departing, Milan needed to find a replacement for the Italian number two, so they opted to go for Pietro Terracciano, who was Fiorentina’s back-up for David De Gea. The shot-stopper has agreed to a lower contract than what he was on in Florence, a good deal.
Pervis Estupinan (Left-back)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €17m plus €2m in bonuses
From: Brighton and Hove Albion
Contract: €2.5m per year until 2030.
Before the summer, it seemed obvious that the Diavolo were going to add another left-back to their ranks, with Theo Hernandez set to leave. The Ecuadorian was the third option attempted, and he has a long way to go before he is held in the same regard as Theo was.
Ardon Jashari (Central midfielder)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €35m plus €4m in bonuses
From: Club Brugge
Contract: €2.5m per year until 2030.
This was the most anticipated signing of the summer window, with Milan taking almost two months to get a deal done for the Swiss midfielder. A deal closed after several ‘final’ bids, but now the midfielder has been sidelined for a lengthy period. You almost couldn’t write it.

Koni De Winter (Central defender)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €20m
From: Genoa
Contract: €1.7m per year until 2030.
Even before the departure of Malick Thiaw, there were arguments that another defender was needed, with a bit more cover at right-back also necessary. So, Milan moved for the young Genoa star and got a deal closed very quickly.
Zachary Athekame (Right-back)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €10m
From: Young Boys
Contract: €1-1.5m per year until 2030.
Every right-back that the Rossoneri had in the 2024/25 season has departed, so a right-back arriving was a necessity. Rather than getting a rather experienced option, the Diavolo browsed the market for an option with potential and settled on Athekame.
Christopher Nkunku (Forward)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €38m
From: Chelsea
Contract: €5m per year until 2030.
Throughout the summer, a new striker has been targeted, and there are certainly a few contrasting views about whether Nkunku fits the bill. However, Milan spent heavily on the Frenchman, so they need him to be the man.

Adrien Rabiot (Central midfielder)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: €10m
From: Olympique Marseille
Contract: €5m per year until 2028 + one-year option.
Reports of Massimiliano Allegri being ignored in the mercato could be quietened by the signing of his former Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot. A move for the Frenchman was tried last summer, but 12 months on they have finally landed their man.
David Odogu (Central defender)
Formula: Permanent transfer
Fee: Unspecified
From: VfL Wolfsburg
Contract: Unspecified until 2029 + one-year option.
Milan entered deadline day weekend considering Manuel Akanji and Joe Gomez; however, they ended the summer with David Ogodu. Things moved quite quickly for the German defender, and it is unknown whether he will impact the senior team or be sent to the Futuro. There are valid questions about his signing, indeed.
