Santiago Gimenez has shared a photo which shows how the whole AC Milan squad went out for dinner in the city.
The entire Milan team dined at a Milanese restaurant, as La Gazzetta dello Sport report. Pulisic, Gabbia and Maignan were in the centre, with the others standing around them. This was not public knowledge, until Gimenez posted a carousel of photos on Instagram last night.
They include the best shots of his last few weeks off the pitch: at home with his wife, lunch at the Duomo, Pulisic in unwearable socks and his dog. Then Gimenez, and his friends (including Yunus Musah) gathered to watch the NFL, tennis, and finally the dinner.
The team have always had dinner gatherings. Group gatherings, usually reserved for the players, serve as a way to bond and unwind without the pressure of a match. It happened under Stefano Pioli and also in his last disastrous final season.
Who organises it? A few players, usually with the captain. This particular dinner was created to celebrate Matteo Gabbia’s birthday (October 21st) and is a good precursor to the derby, where unity will be more important than usual.
