AC Milan Women 3-0 Ternana: Van Dooren and Kyvåg crucial in first win of 2026

AC Milan Women clinched a convincing win, their first of the year, against Ternana earlier today as they found the back of the net three times.

The Rossonere headed into the year with confidence, and well-rested too after a long break, but two draws in the first two games certainly brought their plan to a halt. Fortunately, they were able to bounce back with a much-needed win today, even if anything else would have been embarrassing.

Indeed, Suzanne Bakker’s side faced Ternana, who are last in the league standings with just two wins so far this season. The caveat to that is that there were a lot of absences, as Chante Dompig, Julie Piga and Monica Renzotti missed out, while Evelyn Ijeh left the club a few days ago.

Anyway, Milan broke the deadlock with their first shot on target through Kayleigh van Dooren, taking the lead after 34 minutes. She was assisted by Thea Kyvåg, who has been absolutely crucial for the Rossonere lately.

In the second half, the Dutch international sealed the deal with her second goal of the game, more specifically in the 80th minute. Four minutes later, the aforementioned Kyvåg got in on the goalscoring party and made it 3-0, which ended up being the final result.

Thanks to the win, Milan Women are now in sixth place with 17 points, but they could be leapfrogged by Como who have a game in hand.
