Victor Eletu is expected to sign a renewal with AC Milan shortly, despite his current deal actual expiring at the end of June.

Considering the situation with Eletu, it would have been completely reasonable if he had left Milan at the end of his contract this summer. However, this seems not to be the case, in what has already been described as a ‘shocking U-turn’.

A new deal has been agreed between the Rossoneri and the young midfielder, and there is a belief that he should now remain with the club for another two years. Though reports also suggets that an option will be included.

Change of plan

The reasoning behind the change has not been discussed heavily, until now. Today, an interview from an AfricaFoot.com source goes into detail about the situation and what changed to get a deal done.

“The situation for Victor Eletu is as follows, his contract was up on June 30, 2025. He was wondering about what to do next with his career, knowing that he hadn’t necessarily been given a plan, a specific sporting project, a specific sporting development in Milan, despite the fact that he had had great years, and that he had been training regularly since 2022, 2023 with the pros.

“He played in the U20 World Cup, the Youth League, he played on benches in Serie A and in the Europa League with the Milan first team.

“So, he had a lot of questions, so we had some pretty intense discussions with the management, especially with Massimo Oddo, who loves the player. He was then told the club were going to change to allow him to develop little by little and see him either join the first team or go out on loan for his development.

Considering the midfielder has regularly impressed the youth staff, it is only a good sign that he has chosen to extend.
