Agent of Lazio star calms rumours of January Milan move: “Not considering other options”

Mario Gila’s agent has attempted to cool some of the rumours about a mid-season move to AC Milan, by reiterating that his focus is on Lazio.

Signing another centre-back is one of Milan’s missions in the winter window, even if Igli Tare claimed before the recent win over Cagliari that the current defensive options are enough for the rest of the season. Various names have been linked, but one more than most: Mario Gila.

Gila’s contract expires in less than 18 months and various sources have claimed that he is open to the idea of exploring a new experience elsewhere. Tare brought him to Italy, signing him from Real Madrid, so it is no surprise that he is open to a reunion.

Gila not evaluating options

A report from Tuttosport on Sunday claimed that Lazio have set a price tag north of €30m if they are to even consider parting with the Spaniard midway through the season, knowing the upset it would cause and the need to then replace him.

Now, another blow to Milan’s chances has come from Gila’s agent, Alejandro Camano. He spoke to MilanPress and – when asked about the Rossoneri rumours – he suggested a winter move isn’t on the cards

“Mario has a contract with Lazio until 2027, and at the moment we’re not evaluating or considering other options. Our focus is entirely on giving our all at our current club,” he said.
