Liam Rosenior has been talking about Alejandro Garnacho and why the Chelsea winger has not made too many starts since the head coach was appointed back in January
Liam Rosenior has explained his thinking behind Alejandro Garnacho's lack of minutes at Chelsea since he was appointed head coach, but has hinted he could start at Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.
Since Rosenior was confirmed as Enzo Maresca's successor in January, almost two months ago, Garnacho has not been a frequent figure in his team selection. The Argentine has made just four starts under Rosenior, with six of his 10 appearances coming from the bench.
Chelsea travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday and Garnacho is in contention to start on the left-hand side, with the 21-year-old's chances boosted by Pedro Neto missing out due to suspension. Jamie Gittens remains out of action with a hamstring injury, with Garnacho potentially having the opportunity to shine.

Rosenior has explained that while Garnacho is "more than knocking on the door" to start, the Chelsea head coach has used the Argentine's time out of the side to discover more about his character.
"I do it for everyone," said Rosenior. "I want to find out about people's character, not just when times are good but when times are difficult as well.
"What I want is a consistent team, a consistent winning team, and to have a consistent winning team, you need consistent behaviours and habits regardless of what's happening to you individually.
"Not just Garna. Every player knows from the conversation that I've had with them, how they operate day to day, not just in training, but in meetings, affects my team selection.
"And Garna has put himself in a really, really good place in the last few weeks and he's more than knocking on the door to start."
Since signing for Chelsea last summer for £40million, Garnacho has been in and out of the side but has shown glimpses of his talent. The former Manchester United winger has scored six goals and provided three assists in all competitions across the course of his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
