There has been a bit of a spat between Como and AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri since their meeting earlier this season.
Before the first game between the sides, Cesc Fabregas and Allegri were quite complimentary to one another, appreciating the work of the other and celebrating their work thus far. However, after the game, things changed.
Rather than truly congratulating his opponent for the win, Fabregas gave a bitter press conference, referring to the number of passes his team made and the fact that ‘individuals’ won the game for Milan.
Considering the performances of Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot, perhaps this is hard to deny. However, it still leaves a sour taste in the mouth, which has only been furthered by Como fans, who displayed a banner against Allegri in favour of the Spaniard this weekend.
Allegri’s Fabregas comments
Whilst the Como coach has yet to give his opinion on the game tomorrow night, Allegri held his pre-match press conference this morning, and he stuck to the same route of praise for Fabregas, rather than deepening the situation.
“I don’t think there’s any debate. Let’s just say that Como and Fabregas are doing a great job, they’re fighting for the Champions League. They’ve done a very good job in such a short time, so we can only congratulate them.
“Then there are times when you play well and times when you play less well. For us at Milan, it’s important to get results through performances, which can be good or bad, and we have a goal to achieve, which is a place in the Champions League.”

A word on Como’s banner…
“The Como banner? It’s folklore, that’s fine.”
