AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri addressed the youth sector during the Christmas party on Wednesday at San Siro.
Allegri is someone who has a deep understanding of what it means to represent Milan, having held the position of head coach in two different spells now. He has also helped various academy products establish themselves in the first team, the most recent being Davide Bartesaghi.
During the Milan youth sector Christmas party held at San Siro, Allegri gave a speech to the potential first-team players of tomorrow, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“Football is a wonderful sport that must be played with great passion and fun, but above all, from the youngest to the oldest, football is a school of life. You’re part of a team, there are rules, and you have to be disciplined. This applies regardless of whether you become a footballer or not,” he said.
“The important thing is to have dreams, goals to do your best. When we wear the shirt and are part of a club like Milan, which is one of the most important clubs in the world, we must be respectful, polite, but above all, proud to represent this club.”
The season has started well for Milan’s senior side as they sit top of the Serie A table after 14 games, and now the dreams of a second star Scudetto could become something a bit more realistic. For now though – as Allegri says – it is important everyone keeps their feet on the ground.
