Today, Massimiliano Allegri has given some more thoughts about the friendly between Liverpool and AC Milan. Again, with a very positive feeling.
The win against Liverpool yesterday is huge. Of course, it is pre-season, which certainly diminishes it a little – if it were in a European competition, it would be much different. However, remaining focused on the here and now is what matters.
Milan have just beaten the champions of England, convincingly, with clear signs implemented from the new manager. Something which was a rarity throughout last season. For this reason alone, the result means a lot more.
Allegri’s words
Continuing it is the next big step in Allegri’s potential success with the Rossoneri. So, the game against Perth will be another big test, even if it is just tactically. At the moment, though, the coach is focused solely on the impressive work on display, and he said as much to Milan TV (via MilanNews).
“It was a good match, a great training session for us. We played against a very strong team. The important thing is to maintain balance, because we’re still at the beginning of the season and the important matches haven’t started yet. We need to keep working like this, and above all, the lads are having a positive attitude.

“They help each other a lot on the pitch, and that’s very important for the result. Then, when you win, you always feel good, but I think the most important thing right now is to continue working calmly, with great balance, without getting too excited when we win games and without getting depressed when we lose.”
What satisfied you most?
“We came out with a good, clean play from the back. It wasn’t easy because they jumped on us a lot and applied a lot of pressure. It was a good test, another step forward.
“I’m very happy with the attitude and, above all, the balance we need to maintain when we win matches.”
