Ahead of AC Milan’s game against Perth Glory on Thursday, Massimiliano Allegri spoke at the press conference upon the Rossoneri’s arrival in the city.
Having played two games so far, against Arsenal and Liverpool, Milan have just one friendly left on their pre-season tour in Asia and Australia. Perth Glory are the opponents and the game is scheduled for Thursday, set to kick off at 12:20 CEST.
Milan arrived in the city yesterday and today, they had their first training session there. Before it started, however, Allegri spoke to the media present about the pre-season so far and his decision to return to the Rossoneri.
Visiting Perth…
“I’m proud to be here in Perth, in a beautiful city where I’ve never been before. I can’t wait to visit, experience a new culture, and feel the affection of our fans here in Western Australia.”
Thursday’s game…
“It’s the match that will conclude our tour and this pre-season preparation period. We’ll play in a beautiful stadium against a team that has achieved good results. I expect them to improve in terms of fitness and technique.”

His return and season targets…
“I’ve returned to Milan after 15 years and I’m happy to be here. It will be an important season for us, and we want to return to the Champions League. Milan is one of the most important clubs in the world and must play in the Champions League.
“When you wear this jersey, you feel the responsibility of representing one of the historic clubs, and you always have to give your all.
His sabbatical after the second Juve spell…
“Rest is nice, but I wanted to return to coaching. I chose Milan because I love this club and I couldn’t say no. I do this job with passion and dedication, and I’m convinced that together we will achieve the goals we’ve set for ourselves.”
It’s clear that Allegri has entered this job with the right mindset, completely transforming the training regime (for the better) and getting the players to believe again. The win against Liverpool also proved that there is a lot of quality; the players just need to express themselves.
