Massimo Brambati has revealed that Massimiliano Allegri told him some interesting things about Rafael Leao and Santiago Gimenez.
Before a ball was kicked this season there was talk of Allegri being a big admirer of Leao. The Portuguese forward has had to adapt to a new position as one of a front two, playing with several attacking partners already. However, five goal contributions in the last five games tell a story.
Someone who isn’t having the best of times when it comes to goal contributions is Gimenez. The Mexican striker has had a tough few months since arriving from Feyenoord and he remains stuck on zero league goals, leading to talk of a potential sale as early as the January window.
Dinner with Max
Brambati – a former player who is now an agent and television commentator – was interviewed by MilanNews. He has a long-standing relationship with Allegri, and revealed some of the things he told him while at dinner.
“I had dinner with Max a month ago. He told me that Leao is a special guy, a unique player who needs to be worked on, especially mentally, because he’s a very strong player. He can become a leader.
“He needs to try to express himself and give that something that perhaps he doesn’t have inside himself. That’s the point. I think you can get a lot out of a guy like him.
“Allegri also really likes Gimenez, but he’s having a lot of problems right now… let’s hope he can find a way out.”
