Massimiliano Allegri was interviewed by the media ahead of AC Milan’s big game against Inter this evening. He reiterated that the Nerazzurri are a very strong team and that it will be difficult.

Before the international break, Milan only got a 2-2 draw against Parma despite having plenty of chances to win the game. As such, there has been some disappointment in the Rossoneri camp lately, but this could all change with a good performance tonight.

Indeed, the bragging rights of winning the Derby della Madonnina are incredibly important, just as winning would help Milan a lot in the standings. Speaking to DAZN before the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Allegri shared his thoughts on the clash.

How much of an impact do players like Rabiot have?

“It was important for us to get all our players back, we had to manage our training more without them. Having everyone available increases the pace of training. We worked well during the week, even if tonight is a very difficult match as Inter are a strong team.

“It’s important to put in a good performance and then begin the journey that will take us to March.”

On Bartesaghi starting

“He’s growing, he’s a player with games in his legs, but he’s certainly reliable and has a great future. Rabiot has been out for a long time, so I don’t know how many minutes he’ll get. But tonight’s a match that will require great heart, determination, and above all great technique.”

The approach is important…

“It’s a very important aspect. Against Roma, for the first 25 minutes, we were constantly handing the ball to them under pressure. We need to be more focused and calmer when we have the ball because we have excellent technical qualities. Whoever wins the most duels tonight will win the match.”

Have you missed this derby?

“It’s a wonderful match, a wonderful evening. We work hard to experience these evenings with an incredible adrenaline rush. If we win, we’ll be happy; otherwise, we’ll keep working to achieve our goal of finishing in the top four.”
