AC Milan will be up against Fiorentina tomorrow and during his press conference earlier today, Max Allegri warned they cannot afford to underestimate La Viola despite the poor start.
Fiorentina’s start to the season has been dire, to say the least, with zero wins and just three points collected so far. Stefano Pioli is certainly in a tough position and will have to turn things around very soon, otherwise he can expect to be sacked.
It would certainly be typical if he were to clinch the first win of the season against his former side. However, Massimiliano Allegri downplayed the weight of the absences during his presser earlier today, while also making it clear that Milan won’t underestimate La Viola.
“We need to play with great concentration. Fiorentina have put in excellent performances, regardless of their results. For us, it’s an opportunity to take another small step forward and consolidate our position in the table.

“All matches are difficult to play and win. Fiorentina have excellent quality, with players who can score goals. They are also well-coached and well-organised. They don’t deserve the points they have earned; they deserve more.
“That’s why we will have to play a very focused game, as we have done in recent matches, improving situations in both phases of the game. Good things have been done, but right now we are still a long way from May, and we need to take one small step at a time.”
In short, Milan will treat it as a tough game and while some of the stars will be missing, there are other players in the squad who can step up. Rafael Leao is one of them, even if it’s been a mixed start to the season, while Luka Modric will also keep his spot from start.
