Carlo Ancelotti believes that Luka Modric will entertain the AC Milan fans, while he has backed the decision to re-appoint Massimiliano Allegri.
It has been a big summer of changes for Milan, and many would argue they were needed after a dreadful 2024-25 campaign across the board, barring the Supercoppa Italiana success.
Firstly Igli Tare was appointed as the new sporting director, then he decided to accelerate to make Allegri the new head coach, beating reported competition from other clubs to land the Italian.
One of the major summer signings is of course Modric, the most decorated player in the history of Real Madrid. Though he is 39, he still does many things at an elite level and should be a big asset.
Ancelotti gave an interview to the newspaper Il Giornale that was published this morning and he commented on his former club Milan, with his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com.
Serie A marks the returns of Allegri and Sarri to Milan and Lazio…
“I’m happy that Milan are relying on Allegri again: he’s an important figure that both the team and the club needed. Serie A has important coaches, Sarri, Conte, Gasperini.”

Modric has also joined Milan…
“I spoke to him, he’ll entertain the fans, he’ll leave his mark on the league, he’s happy with the choice, he knows he can go to the World Cup, he’s an absolute professional, last year he never missed a training session.”
After Brazil?
“I have three options: I stay here, I find something interesting, or I retire.”
