Lecce coach Eusebio Di Francesco was full of praise for loanee Francesco Camarda, and pledged to help him develop.
After a strange 2024-25 season for Camarda, who spent time with the first team and Milan Futuro for the first part before making his first league start in a draw against Cagliari, the decision was made to loan him out.
This was most likely because he became mostly an unused substitute in 2025, and Igli Tare also confirmed that the Rossoneri will be signing another striker which could further reduce his minutes.
Lecce won the race for the teenager, signing him loan with option to buy set at €3m, but Milan have a buy-back at €4m, with some bonuses included to encourage the Salento side to play him.
‘Can only speak highly’
Di Francesco spoke again about Camarda – after previously praising him – in a press conference ahead of Lecce’s first competitive game of the season, against Juve Stabia in the Coppa Italia round of 32.
“I can only speak highly of Camarda. Coaching him has made me appreciate his qualities even more. He’s a player who shows he’s a different age,” he said (via MilanPress).
“He also needs to improve on some skills and knowledge, but I think that’s normal. I see great potential in him, and I’m very happy to be able to coach him and Krstovic.”
