Arne Slot dealt new Liverpool injury problem in disastrous Brentford loss

Arne Slot was handed a fresh midfield injury concern after Curtis Jones was forced off during Liverpool's defeat by Brentford.

The Reds went into the game without Ryan Gravenberch, while Alexis Mac Allister started on the bench at the Gtech Stadium after struggling for form and fitness over recent months.

Jones was deployed in midfield alongside Dominik Szoboszlai, but injury forced him off in the second half, with Rio Ngumoha coming on to replace the midfielder.

Ngumoha could not produce a dramatic late moment like the one he conjured at Newcastle earlier in the season, as the Reds lost 3-2 in West London.

Liverpool has now lost four Premier League games in a row, following the defeats by Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks.
