Joe Gomez should be available when Liverpool travels to Fulham this weekend, but Wataru Endo is still missing, and Florian Wirtz needs to be carefully managed.

After drawing with Leeds at Anfield, Arne Slot's side faces two trips to London next, with Fulham and then Arsenal coming up this week in the Premier League. And the Liverpool boss will still be without a few of his players.

"I expect Joe to train with us tomorrow and Wata, not yet," Slot said. "Again, I think to say we had four players on the bench who haven't played any minutes in the Premier League and these players just keep going with so many players to go.

"If anyone was like, 'Hmm, why does he take Florian off?', for example, two days after the game, he felt his hamstring still too much. That's why he couldn't train and only trained yesterday.

"With all the games coming up, it was too much of a risk if you don't have so many players available with Premier League experience and, of course, Cody [Gakpo] is a good replacement to bring him in.

"There are all the things we have to take into account, players available with at least some Premier League experience for the schedule we are going in.

"We have already had two months of non-stop playing football and most of them, six or seven months non-stop playing football.

"So everyone stayed fit, positive, a clean sheet. If I have to take something positive, it's those two and Ibou didn't get a yellow, so he is not suspended."

Wirtz was below par against Leeds and struggled to make much of an impact. However, the hamstring issue that he was carrying probably played a part.

"It's a lot to ask for the players who were fit," Slot had earlier told LFCTV. "As you could see today, four players with hardly any playing minutes in the Premier League were on the bench.

"Florian only trained once this week because two days after the game, he felt his hamstring still a bit. You try to be as careful as you can without ruining your chances of winning the game as much as you can.

"With the schedule coming up, missing out on another one would be an even bigger problem if that's going to take five, six or seven weeks or longer.

"The good thing was Cody was back after an injury so I could still make a few substitutions still. These players have to do it in the upcoming weeks or months because apart from Joe Gomez, I don't see a player coming back soon."

In addition to Endo being out, Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni are long-term absentees. Mohamed Salah is currently at AFCON.
