Gabriel Jesus is tipped to start for Arsenal against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday

Arsenal take on Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, looking to continue their dominance at the top of the Premier League table. Despite appearing to drop points against Nottingham Forest last weekend, both Manchester City and Aston Villa suffered losses themselves, meaning Arsenal ended up extending their lead at the summit.

Manchester United were, in fact, the reason for the Gunners’ jubilation as they consigned Pep Guardiola to an embarrassing 2-0 defeat, which could have easily been more with multiple goals ruled out for offside. While helpful, it has raised eyebrows, and perhaps Mikel Arteta’s line-up against Inter Milan showed his own concerns.

Seven changes from the side which draw in the East Midlands. There are therefore several changes from San Siro expected when Michael Carrick’s team come to the Emirates.

Martin Odegaard earned a complete rest and will be completely fresh for the weekend. Ben White, Gabriel and Declan Rice were all substitutes who came on during the second half and were given the chance to rest their legs.

All the above, therefore, are expected to start on Sunday. Despite both Myles Lewis-Skelly and Cristhian Mosquera having great displays in Italy, there will be a keenness to restore seniority for such a competitive match.

Gabriel Jesus, however, who scored twice, has made a great argument that he should be starting ahead of Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede came on to score, but Jesus’ good work in tight spaces could be of greater suitability for the visit of the Red Devils.
