Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title have been predicted following the latest round of matches. The Gunners returned to winning ways after the international break with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend in the top flight.
Mikel Arteta and Co. will now be fully focused on the Champions League test ahead of them as they face Athletic Club on Wednesday night, before returning to Premier League action at the weekend against Manchester City.
Arsenal are currently three points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table after the opening four games. And now a fresh prediction has emerged, providing an update on where the Gunners will finish in the overall standings.
Opta Analyst have provided their prediction of how they believe the final Premier League table will look after every team has played all 38 fixtures.
The prediction believes that Arsenal will finish in second place with 74 points (74.48) to their name, which would be the exact same number as last term.
Liverpool, who scored a penalty deep into stoppage time to maintain their 100 percent start to the season, are predicted to win the Premier League title for the second successive season with 80 points (80.41). That would be four fewer than last term but, crucially, would be six more than the Gunners based on the prediction.
According to the prediction, Arsenal have just a 25.78 percent chance of winning the Premier League title, which is significantly less likely than the 52.93 percent likelihood which has been handed to Liverpool.
Chelsea and Manchester City complete the top four spots, with both clubs predicted to finish with 66 points, while Newcastle United are fifth on 58.5 points. Burnley, Wolves and Sunderland are the three clubs predicted to be relegated to the Championship.
