Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been reliant on new signing Viktor Gyokeres so far this season with both his other recognised No.9 options out injured - but the Gunners could be boosted by both before Christmas
Arsenal are set for a major Christmas present in the shape of forgotten man Gabriel Jesus.
And it may well be double delight for the Gunners with Kai Havertz stepping up his fitness work and looking to get back into first-team contention much quicker than had initially been anticipated
Jesus, 28, suffered a serious knee injury in January during the FA Cup third round clash with Manchester United. The £45m striker has been plagued by injuries since the 2022 World Cup and it was a devastating blow for the Brazil international.
But Jesus has impressed Arsenal’s medical team with his determination to come back and is back taking part in sessions on grass.
There remains some caution, and he has not yet been involved in a full training session, but he is now targeting a return to full training and potential first team action by December - before hopefully playing a full part in the second half of the season and a title push.

He underwent knee surgery after suffering a problem at Manchester United on the opening weekend of the season.
He has not yet been seen with the first team training group, but his return is expected in the coming weeks. There are hopes he may well be back starting again within a month.
Havertz missed much of the end of last season because of a hamstring injury suffered while on the club’s warm weather training camp in Dubai, which duly restricted him to just two substitute appearances in May.
He impressed many at the club, notably the medical staff, with the work he put in to get fit and is doing so again this time around.
The return of both gives Arteta increased options in attack, whether through the middle, out wide or, in Havertz's case, operating from a deeper midfield position.
And those extra options could see an Arsenal side earning rave reviews for their outstanding defence become more unpredictable in attack.
