Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie has issued an update before the Premier League clash at home to Manchester United as he continues recovering from injury
Piero Hincapie has been supported by his Arsenal team-mates on social media as he continues recovering from injury. The Ecuador international picked up an issue during the 0-0 draw against Liverpool earlier this month and has subsequently missed the following four games in all competitions.
The Gunners have remained unbeaten over that period with wins over Portsmouth, Chelsea and Inter alongside another goalless Premier League stalemate against Nottingham Forest. Fixtures are set to come thick and fast over the coming weeks for Arsenal with Arteta honestly admitting he does not know when Hincapie will be back.
With more free time seemingly on his hands, Hincapie has posted a number of photos to Instagram showing his last few months as he captioned the post: "Londres." The images show Hincapie in action, discussing tactics with Gabriel Magalhaes and also recovering in the gym.
The latter, Calafiori, Mikel Merino, William Saliba, Leandro Trossard, Viktor Gyokeres and David Raya showed their support for their team-mate by liking his social media post.
Prior to his injury, Hincapie had been filling in at left-back for Riccardo Calafiori, who has not played for Arsenal since before Christmas. Arteta provided an update on the Italy international before the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea.

He said: "He is progressing, but we don't know. I think it will be a matter of a few weeks, probably. We don't know exactly when."
One positive for Arteta was Cristhian Mosquera returning to the starting XI for the European triumph over Inter after a lengthy spell out. The Spaniard was imperious up against Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, with Arteta full of praise.
When asked about Mosquera, Arteta replied: "Very happy as well with most of the individual performances, I think, were incredible.
“If not, you don't win in San Siro in the manner that we've done in. Mosquera was s supposed to be another two weeks before coming back, but the medical staff and and the sports scientists, they've done incredibly well with him to work every single hour to give the chance to play.
“Today he had to play and against top [opposition], I think he's done an incredible job as well.”
Arsenal's next fixture is at home to Manchester United, with Michael Carrick's side looking to build on a superb victory over Manchester City last weekend.
United have also seen their injury problems lessen in recent weeks, with Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire returning. Noussair Mazraoui is also set to be back available after his AFCON exploits, with Amad and Bryan Mbeumo already back.
