Arsenal are set to increase season ticket prices for the fifth successive season. On average, 23-game Season Tickets will see an increase of 3.9% from the 2026/27 season.

This works out at around £2 per game, up from the previous campaign, for the vast majority of those season tickets. football.london understands that discussions over the decision to make such an increase have been ongoing since September.

The biggest structural change to how games are priced is the introduction of two new match categories. Currently, there are A, B and C category games, but the new structure will introduce two B+ fixtures, followed by an A+ category reserved for potentially UEFA Champions League quarter and semi-final (pending qualification) matches.

B+ is seen as a category for games against sides that are no longer perceived as category B but not as big as category A matches, such as Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham. The two clubs football.london understand are under consideration but not confirmed, are Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

In terms of pricing, A+ category games will be 15% more expensive than a category A match. Currently, the jump from category B to category A is a 60% jump. Unsurprisingly, category B+ will sit in the middle price-wise of these two, and so a 30% increase on category B.

While this represents a year-on-year increase in ticket prices for the fifth straight season, so far it has not been decided whether this will again occur the following season and remains under review. However, the club have committed to freezing the prices of A+ category games between 2026/27 and 2027/28, football.london understands.

The increase of ticket prices for match-going fans is never something that anyone enjoys seeing. I wrote last year when the last increase in prices that fans have been left to pay the price of the team’s recent “success” in the sense of greater competitiveness.

Now, it is fair to point out that the cost of everything is on the up, and the cost of running the stadium infrastructure is therefore also increasing. Furthermore, the club spent record money in the summer of 2025 on players and are four points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a clear ambition to win trophies on a regular basis.

Yet the sentiment, if you like, remains that an increase of 3.3% for the vast majority of season ticket holders will see a revenue increase which many would argue is not significant enough to justify, even in these settings. Naturally, it might make it easier to stomach than a bigger hike after multiple seasons of frozen prices, as had been seen in the past.

It certainly increases the pressure on the club and manager Mikel Arteta to lift silverware, both major and multiple. Winning the Premier League, as the club is the favourite to do this season, will certainly help fans stomach the extra expenditure.

Furthermore, the news that safe standing, a reality which many have campaigned for for years and which is understood to be a seven-figure investment for Arsenal, will certainly alleviate additional scrutiny. I predict it might even overshadow it too.
