Liam Rosenior has impressed in a short but incredibly sweet tenure with Chelsea thus far, but one club legend believes that he will be handed his walking papers before the year is out

Emmanuel Petit has predicted that Liam Rosenior will not last the year with Chelsea, despite impressing in his tenure thus far.
The 41-year-old has a gleaming track record of eight wins, one draw and just two defeats across all competitions since taking up tenure at Stamford Bridge in the wake of Enzo Maresca's exit last month. And as the Blues sit fifth in the Premier League standings, the possibility of European football for 2026/27 looks more and more likely by the day.
While he may well guide Chelsea to Champions League qualification dependent on the outcome of his next 12 matches, Petit doesn't believe he will be around to coach the Blues to glory in next year's instalment of the tournament.
He said: "Can Liam Rosenior ever win a Premier League title with Chelsea? They've been changing players every single year.
"So consistency and stability are very important if you want to win something. You have to stick with your players, have a vision, and stick with it.
"It doesn't matter if you go through dark tunnels, you have to stick with it. You have to believe in it.
"You have to send a message to the dressing room, whatever happens on the pitch, even if we got bad results, we stick with our ideas. Liverpool did that, and they won trophies.

"City did that, and they won trophies. Arsenal have been doing that for years now and are not far from winning it.
"We will see at the end of the season. So look at Manchester United, look at Spurs, look at Chelsea, all those clubs.
"They've been changing players and managers so many times. And then all of a sudden you want them to win the title?
"And you're asking me if Liam Rosenior is capable of winning the title with Chelsea? I'm not sure if he's going to be the manager in 10 months. If he has three or four bad results in a row, I will not be surprised if the board sacks him."
It's a controversial take from the Frenchman who played for Chelsea between 2001 and 2004, especially given how Rosenior has managed to forge such tight-knit relationships with his squad in such a short space of time. However, the west London outfit have failed to taste Premier League glory since 2016/17 under Antonio Conte, with Petit clearly pointing fingers at a wealth of change over the years at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been known to spend big in the summer transfer window, signing 11 players last summer alone in a major squad overhaul. However, Petit believes that the club need to stick with a certain crop and build rather than mixing things up year in year out, should they harbour any aspirations of winning the league once more.
Lagging league leaders Arsenal by 13 points, Chelsea are believed to be out of this year's race for the title, despite holding 12 wins, eight draws and six losses to show for their efforts this season.
And with just 12 matches remaining, including clashes with the likes of the Gunners, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, Rosenior's main focus will be on breaking into the top five and clinching Champions League qualification.
Up next for the Blues is a game against a struggling Burnley at Stamford Bridge come Saturday, February 21. A win there could see Chelsea climb into fourth, albeit temporarily dependent on the outcome of Manchester United's clash with Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday, February 23.
