Atalanta boss Ivan Juric has joked that he needs to become a bit more like Massimiliano Allegri when it comes to showing his emotions.
Juric and Allegri shook hands and shared an embrace just eight days ago as Atalanta and Milan drew 1-1 at the New Balance Arena. In that particular game, both coaches were seen to be very animated on the touchline, barking orders at their players.
The former Torino boss gave an interview to Sky on the eve of Marseille-Atalanta in the Champions League, and he joked about his conduct relative to that of his counterpart Allegri. It was in response to a question about if he has been reassured by the president Percassi, given the lack of wins.
“There’s no need to reassure me, you’re trying to create something that doesn’t exist. We talk, we’re always in touch, and everything goes as usual, nothing special. I really think we’ve had great matches, playing very well and getting less and less,” he said (via MilanPress).
“I’m a person who’s sometimes happy, sometimes tough. I’m coping very well with this situation, I’ve seen the team do very well, but others have malicious opinions and don’t judge the technical side correctly. I’ll try to become a little more relaxed like Allegri, who is always perfect.”
It is certainly a bit of a tongue-in-cheek remark from Juric, given that there have already been a number of clips go viral on social media this season showing Allegri losing his cool, either at players or at officials. He is of course also famous for tearing his jacket off, like against Napoli.
