Athekame ready for ‘tough’ Pisa contest: “The most important thing for me is to win”

Zachary Athekame is hoping for a repeat of the first meeting with Pisa when he scored his first AC Milan goal, but this time for three points.

For Milan, the mission tonight is two-fold: to win and cut the gap to Inter back down to five points, but also to take advantage of the fact that their city rivals host Juventus at San Siro tomorrow night, while Napoli welcome Roma to the Stadio Diego Armanda Maradona on Sunday.

It has been 10 days since the Rossoneri last played, which was the 3-0 win at Bologna. Massimiliano Allegri has made just one change from that team with Fikayo Tomori coming in for Koni De Winter. Once again, three of the four forwards available are not at 100%, so Ruben Loftus-Cheek starts up front.

Athekame spoke to DAZN around an hour before kick-off at the Arena Garibaldi and he gave his thoughts ahead of what will be another opportunity for him, replacing Alexis Saelemaekers. MilanNews relayed his words.
