Bakker furious after Milan Women defeat against Inter: “I can’t accept that”

AC Milan Women were beaten by Inter this afternoon, and that feels almost generous to say. The Rossonere were thumped.

After some mixed results in recent weeks, Milan really needed to get a win today, regardless of who the opposition was. The fact that it was Inter meant that there was always going to be more pressure on that.

Things started well, too, with a goal inside the first 10 minutes. However, it would be the Rossonere’s only one of the afternoon, as Inter scored five times without a reply in the remaining 80 minutes, with four coming in the second half.

Disappointed Diavola

It is a result that no one will be happy with, especially given that Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare attended the fixture. So, after the game, head coach Suzanne Bakker gave her thoughts and they were not positive at all. In fact, she gave a brutally honest review of her team, as MilanNews relays.

“It was a two-faced match. In the first half, we were dominant, we were playing a good game, we scored a good goal. We could have created more chances in my opinion, but in the second half, I didn’t recognise Milan, and I can’t accept that.

“The way we defended and conceded goals, because it was too easy for them to score against us.

“It’s hard to say what happened. I didn’t recognise my team in the second half; they lacked the fire and the passion they usually have. And against Inter, you have to give it your all. If you don’t, it ends like today.”
