A handful of Galatasaray fans who managed to get tickets to their side's Champions League game at Anfield against Liverpool were removed from the stadium after the Reds' second-half blitz effectively ended the tie.
UEFA banned the Turkish side's fans from attending one away game in the Champions League after crowd trouble during their game against Juventus a round earlier. However, despite the ban, a handful of Galatasaray fans could be seen inside Anfield prior to kickoff.
It was later confirmed to Liverpool.com that, despite the ban, Galatasaray were given 200 'Category 1' tickets by UEFA, something all clubs in the Champions League receive for club VIPs and families. "There are 200 'Cat 1' tickets which all clubs get from UEFA for club VIPs, families, etc., they are not part of the ban," read a statement from Liverpool given to Liverpool.com.
