Barcelona could make a huge transfer decision that impacts both Tottenham Hotspur and Micky Van de Ven this summer.

Micky van de Ven is one Tottenham Hotspur player who has been linked with a move away from north London following Spurs’ struggles this campaign.

A host of clubs in Europe and the Premier League are believed to be keen on securing the services of van de Ven, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Tottenham pacey centre-back has since come out to hit out at the rumours involving himself and several of his team-mates, reports he believes are creating a rift between players and fans.

Simon Jordan has slammed van de Ven for his ‘self-serving nonsense’ interview, stating that the centre-back will leave the club should they be relegated.

Tottenham transfer twist: Barcelona could choose between Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic

SunSport are now reporting that van de Ven runs the risk of missing out on a transfer to La Liga giants Barcelona.

That is because it is claimed that Barcelona could drop their interest in Micky van de Ven to sign his Tottenham team-mate Luka Vuskovic instead.

Barcelona are reported to be looking to secure the services of a new centre-back in the coming months as they look to strengthen at the back.

Vuskovic’s form could impact Micky van de Ven’s future

Vuskovic has definitely been the more consistent defender this season, and that could affect the future of both players.

Spurs may need to decide on who to retain next season, and Vuskovic could potentially be favoured over van de Ven given his poor form.

Van de Ven is the more experienced option, but there is no denying that he has been far from his best this campaign.

Vuskovic, on the other hand, has consistently put in top displays and was even voted player of the Bundesliga season thus far, beating Harry Kane.

Speculation regarding the future of the Croat remains intense, but Vuskovic has stated that his focus remains on Tottenham.

Spurs are said to be open to Vuskovic transfer talks if bids fall between £52m and £61m.
