Bartesaghi discusses importance of Bologna-Milan and need to ‘send a signal’

Ahead of AC Milan’s game against Bologna, Davide Bartesaghi spoke to the media and explained why it’s crucial for the Rossoneri to clinch all three points tonight.

Bartesaghi is playing from start on the left-hand side, just like he did against Roma, but he will surely be looking to do a little better tonight. Indeed, he caused the penalty that led to the Giallorossi’s equaliser, caught handling the ball inside the box.

Speaking to DAZN just a few minutes ago, as transcribed by MilanNews, the youngster spoke about the importance of tonight’s game. Milan, in order to keep up with their rivals, need to send a signal with a win. He also touched on the handball against Roma.

A difficult match tonight, considering the schedule and the standings…

“We know that this is an important time of the season, to make a change and to send a positive signal to ourselves and the rest of the league. We have trained just as in any other week. We are confident in our abilities and we will try to put them to good use on the pitch as always.”

After the handball against Roma, we assume you want to redeem yourself tonight…

“It was an unfortunate incident. That’s how it is in football. Not everything can go your way all the time. Now there’s another game, and I’m focused on doing well tonight.”

It remains to be seen how tonight’s game will pan out, with the starting eleven giving us some doubts. Christian Pulisic and Alexis Saelemaekers aren’t even on the bench, for example, while Rafael Leao was deemed not fit enough to play from start.
