Davide Bartesaghi believes that AC Milan weathered a storm against Como, and were then able to exploit the spaces that emerged.
For the opening 40 minutes of the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Milan were forced to sit back and soak up pressure from a Como side who seemed determined to be out of sight by the interval. In truth they could have been after Kempf’s header, but Mike Maignan made some huge stops.
That set the platform for a comeback that began just before the break, with Christopher Nkunku converting a penalty that Adrien Rabiot won. Rabiot then turned scorer, netting early and late in the second half to complete a comeback win and inflict a first home defeat of the season on Como.
Davide dissects Como win
Bartesaghi spoke to Milan TV after the final whistle to give his thoughts on what was a rollercoaster of a game with the best possible outcome. MilanNews relayed what he had to say.
How do you feel after the win?
“It was a crucial match. We didn’t start out very well in the first half, but then we emerged as a strong group.”
Was it tough physically?
“From a physical standpoint it was difficult, we played a high-tempo game. Then in the second half we managed to clear our minds and find more space for the 2-1 and 3-1.”
How do you rate your own performance, and your recent form?
“I’m still not satisfied. I want to improve even more because I remember where I was six months ago, things were different. I’m here to grow. Life can change at any moment. We grow through hardship.”
