Bartesaghi hobbles off holding thigh during Bologna-Milan – Allegri’s reassuring update

There was a worrying moment for Davide Bartesaghi during the win over Bologna, but Massimiliano Allegri provided some reassurance.

Milan piled more misery on Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara on Tuesday night, as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners. The nature of the game and the dominance of the performance allowed some rotation with substitutions, but the last change caused a bit of panic.

The final alteration came with about seven minutes to go, and it was a worrying one for Allegri to have to make. Bartesaghi pulled up clutching the back of his leg and made way for Pervis Estupinan. On his PazzaDiFanta website, Gianluca Di Marzio spoke of a muscle issue for the full-back.

In his post-match press conference (via MilanNews), Allegri was asked for updates on the physical conditions of three players including a couple who were forced to miss the game.

How is Leao?

“Let’s see if Leao and Pulisic will be in Pisa. I think so. Tonight, given the result, I preferred to rest Leao, so maybe we can shorten his recovery time.”

How is Saelemaekers?

“Let’s see, Athekame played a good match.”

Bartesaghi?

“Discomfort, but nothing major. Cramps.”
