Davide Bartesaghi spoke to the media after AC Milan’s 1-1 draw against Como and insisted that it is a very important point for the Rossoneri.
Milan headed into the game eight points behind their city rivals Inter in the standings, thus in need of three points to keep the Scudetto race alive (more or less). However, after a Mike Maignan howler, they only managed to clinch a point.
Bartesaghi, who got a 6/10 in our player ratings, spoke to MilanTV after the game (via MilanNews) and insisted that it is a very important point for the team. While the Scudetto is looking difficult, the unbeaten run was kept alive and the point also strengthened the top-four pursuit.
A comment on the match?
“We knew it was a tough match and that they’re a very strong team. We did well to get back into the game because it wasn’t easy at all. But we also did well not to lose. Overall, we put in a good performance.”
Could you have been more precise in the end?
“We should have been a little more aggressive in front of goal, but I think we were also a little unlucky. We had our chances. We needed to win it, but also not lose it: it’s a very important point.”
You hugged Maignan at the end of the match…
“We are a positive team and we always think positively: there is always confidence and there always will be.”
At the end of the match, there was disappointment…
“Obviously, we wanted to win. We were disappointed because we had chances. It’s an important point, we must always stay united and think about ourselves.”
Another home game is on the cards for Milan, more specifically against Parma, and it’s scheduled for Sunday evening. It’s safe to say that a win will be needed there to even remain within a reasonable distance going into the derby.
