Bayern Munich executive Uli Hoeness has warned Liverpool that the club won't be contributing to their future transfer plans and fired a dig at the lack of success following an expensive summer haul.
Liverpool has been rocked by the bombshell announcement that Mohamed Salah will be leaving the club at the end of the 2025-26 season, meaning a replacement will be needed. Salah has agreed to cancel his contract prematurely, saving Liverpool $27.8 million in future wage allocation.
Bayern Munich star Michael Olise has been on Liverpool's radar for some time, and Salah's exit could lead to the club pursuing a blockbuster deal this summer. However, Bayern has no plans to sell the French winger and has no interest in doing business with Liverpool.

The 74-year-old is currently a board member, but has also served as club president and general manager.
During a recent interview with DPA, Hoeness made it clear that if Liverpool attempted to sign Olise, the club would face rejection. "Remember Liverpool spent €500m last summer and is having a very bad season," he said.
"So we won’t be contributing to them playing better next year." Bayern is thriving in the Bundesliga and has also reached the Champions League quarterfinals, with Olise playing a major role.

The French winger has scored 11 goals and provided 18 assists in 25 Bundesliga games, adding another three goals and four assists in nine Champions League appearances. Bayern signed Olise from Crystal Palace in 2024, and now values him among the world's greats.
Olise is under contract through 2029 but reportedly has no release clause in his deal. Olise has attracted interest from elite clubs such as Real Madrid and Liverpool, but he is not for sale.
Bayern's director of sport, Max Eberl, also shut down a future Olise departure during an interview with Sport Bild. "We’re not even wasting a thought on that," Eberl said.

"He is a Bayern Munich player and has every opportunity here that top players could wish for. We want to shape the future with him."
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen echoed the same sentiment. "No matter which club tries to turn his head: anyone playing for Bayern Munich knows what they have here," he said.
"We compete for titles, and that is the most important thing for exceptional players like him. For this type of player, it’s about winning trophies.
"There are not many clubs where you can do that, and we are certainly one of them. That’s why I am completely convinced that Michael knows what he has with us."
