Bayern Munich 'returns' with second offer for Luis Diaz as Liverpool transfer talks continue

2 hours ago 17

Liverpool has reportedly received a second offer from Bayern Munich for winger Luis Diaz.

The winger has been the subject of widespread interest this summer and Liverpool has previously rejected interest from Barcelona, while Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr has been monitoring the situation.

But it's Bayern who has pushed hardest to sign the 28-year-old this window. The German champions saw their initial approach rebuffed by the Reds on July 2, before an official bid of €68m ($79M/£59M) was rejected last week.

Liverpool.com reported on Friday that a second bid was expected with the clubs now in direct talks over a possible transfer.

According to Sky Sports News, that offer was submitted on Sunday and is the region of $93million (£69M/€80M).

It comes after transfer journalist Ben Jacobs previously claimed on X that a deal was "close".

The winger was omitted from Liverpool's squad that faced AC Milan on Saturday, with Arne Slot revealing it was due to the speculation surrounding his future.

Liverpool.com reported on Friday that the Reds were anticipating an improved offer after an initial bid was turned down on July 15.
