‘Benefitting from Allegri’s trust’ – Moretto states that Tomori’s situation is changing

There have been several situations in the mercato with Fikayo Tomori recently. However, the last of them could have been seen at AC Milan, at least for now.

In the past year, Tomori’s situation has been watched closely. After all, the English defender has been available at a few points, and interest has regularly been present. However, no one ever made a move occur.

It was close on a few occasions, but the Englishman preferred to stay in Italy, with Milan, and fight for a place.

Tomori’s future

During the summer, it seemed the regularity of exit discussions was paused, as Massimiliano Allegri wanted to evaluate the defender, seeing whether he could unlock his defensive ideas. So far, the Englishman is prevailing.

As a result, Matteo Moretto reports that his situation, both now and with a view to the future, could change, as PianetaMilan relays.

“In recent transfers, AC Milan have received offers for Tomori, for example, from Juventus, but Tomori stayed at AC Milan of his own free will. Tottenham also made a significant offer in January, but even then, Tomori’s determination made the difference.

“With Allegri’s arrival on the bench and his renewed confidence, Tomori’s present and future could also change. The defender is in negotiations for a possible contract renewal. The parties are discussing it, there’s the possibility of him extending his contract with Milan, he wants to stay.”

“Allegri and the management are happy with Tomori’s performances. They want to continue together. New contacts are expected to renew the contract expiring in 2027. As of today, Pulisic’s renewal is not a priority; there are no appointments. Maignan is all at a standstill.”

Reports recently suggested a new deal could be on the way, and that now seems more likely.
