After sealing a deal for Ardon Jashari, AC Milan will now turn their focus to getting Zachary Athekame over the line too.
Milan have been linked with a number of different right-backs during the summer window already, from Marc Pubill to Guela Doue. However, the name that seems to have taken pole position in recent days is Athekame, and things are moving closer to completion.
Athekame closing in
According to Blick.ch, the sale of Athekame to Milan is nearing completion. The Rossoneri have improved their offer, from €7m to €8m plus bonuses, with Young Boys setting an initial price of €10m.
The Swiss club then dropped this to €9m, and the distance of €1m should be bridgeable. In fact, the outlet believe that the closing of the deal ‘could happen quickly’.

Tonight, Young Boys face FC Basel and it is possible that a sign could come regarding the 20-year-old, especially if he is left out of the squad with the move being so close.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews): “Negotiations between Young Boys and Milan for Athekame will resume on Thursday, August 7th. Furthermore, no definitive answers or news regarding a possible agreement for the player will arrive before Friday the 8th.”
