After a pretty bland performance, struggling to create chances, Milan were knocked out of the Coppa Italia on Thursday evening. Lazio scored the only goal of the game and thus advanced to the quarter-finals, with Max Allegri left shaking his head.

For Milan, however, it wasn’t just a wake-up call for their lack of quality depth. In the last two seasons, both Scudetto winners were knocked out of the Coppa Italia Round of 16 (first Inter and Napoli), making things interesting for the Rossoneri to say the least.
