Bonus Podcast with Oliver and Anthony: Theo Hernandez’s Milan Fable

In the latest episode of the bonus podcast, Oliver and Anthony recap Theo Hernandez’s six years at AC Milan, from his rise to stardom to an eventual bitter exit.

The Frenchman’s departure was made official at the start of the month, signing a contract with Al-Hilal worth around €20m. As for Milan, they cashed in around €25m plus bonuses on the sale and with these figures in mind, one could see it as a win-win.

However, there is no hiding from the fact that Hernandez’s exit was heavily tainted. He was expected to be Milan’s left-back starter for a long time, or at the very least, everyone thought it would take a massive offer for him to leave the club.

Instead, due to stalled renewal talks, he ended up for a relatively small amount and sent a clear message to the management in his farewell post. All things considered, it was an exit that few of us would have imagined when Milan lifted the Scudetto.
