BREAKING: Arne Slot gives Alexander Isak injury update as Liverpool given hope ahead of Real Madrid

6 hours ago 34

Arne Slot has ruled Alexander Isak out of a start before the upcoming international break - although the Liverpool boss has suggested his striker could still feature against Manchester City on Sunday.

Isak was not involved in training on Monday as the Reds gear up for their latest Champions League encounter against Real Madrid. The Swedish international has been missing since being brought off against Eintracht Frankfurt with a groin problem.

Giving an update on his condition - as well as Jeremie Frimpong and Alisson Becker - Slot confirmed none of the trio will return in tomorrow's game, but there is still some hope Isak could return at the weekend.

"All three are unavailable for tomorrow," Slot said. "Jeremie and Alisson will also not be available for Sunday, and with Alex, we have to wait and see.

"Definitely not starting on Sunday, but maybe he can be involved in the squad, but he's still not training with the team, so we have to wait and see."
