BREAKING: Hugo Ekitike shows true colors after Liverpool Champions League breakthrough at Frankfurt

1 week ago 6

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike has found the net against his old club Eintracht Frankfurt. His strike brought the Reds level, after falling behind in the Champions League clash.

Ekitike only made the move in the summer. And he showed respect for his old club, declining to celebrate as he put the ball in the net.

His goal sparked a revival, with the Reds going from 1-0 down to 3-1 up before half time. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate both struck from corners to turn the contest around.

Arne Slot will be relieved at the turnaround, with Liverpool looking to avoid a fifth straight defeat. And Ekitike will be delighted to have made an impression as well, with the manager playing him alongside Alexander Isak for the first time.

Having already got into hot water once for his celebrations at Liverpool, he avoided any controversies on this occasion. As is the norm these days, Ekitike did not celebrate against his old club.
